Groundhog Day is approaching, and considering the current weather, it might give us a shred of hope. Groundhog Day originated as a christian tradition where they would light candles to determine if spring would come early, or if there would be 6 more frigid weeks of winter. However, the Germans altered this tradition by selecting an animal, the groundhog.
